Sony’s New A9 Camera

Sony’s new A9 camera was released on Friday in Australia. And the company appears to be aiming at the professional market.

They are attempting to challenge Nikon and Canon which are the leaders of the industry of professional cameras.

On the other hand, the company’s newest mirrorless camera shows some remarkable features. The features include a high-speed processing and image sensor, which let you shoot at 20 FPS (Frames Per Second). This is allowed by a 24 MP stacked CMOS Exmor RS sensor. This means that you can shoot at that extra fast pace for a maximum of 241 RAW full-frame images in a row.

VivekHandoo, the head of Digital Imaging for Sony Australia, says that the camera’s newest feature is something they haven’t had in their past lineup. The camera is more for fast shooting since that was the break they were missing in.

Knowing the Details

The company believes that the camera should excel in the three critical areas – low light sensitivity, resolution, and fast shooting environments if they want it to be noticed by professional photographers.

Handoo believes that Sony was formerly missing the last category. However, the new A9 will represent the last missing piece of the puzzle for Sony’s top-end range. He also says that there is now a no reason for a professional photographer to not consider Sony as a choice.

In connection to that, the company gave the famous Australian Sports Photographers the A9 camera. Later, the photographers captured some astonishing shots, which were displayed in Sydney at a launch event on Thursday evening.

What’s with the Specs

The A9 camera also features an in-body image stabilization, a maximum shutter speed of up to 1/32,000 sec and full-frame 4K video capture capability.

Another impressive factor about the A9 camera is its stillness when operating at a high output. It is now obvious why the camera got a lot of positive reviews after it was launched in the US market.

The low-end market of consumers is slowly being taken by the cameras of smartphones. Now, it is clear why the company is pushing harder into the space of professional photography.

However, Sony realizes that the market of consumers is still a part where the innovation of technology can bring success. Handoo says that mirrorless technology is pushing the limit now. It is not catching up with the dSLR’s but it is going past that. Handoo also says that more people want smaller devices. But these devices have the same output as the bigger ones, and that is where the company is going.
