The Threat Of A Real ‘Star Wars’ Imminent; Ways To Bring Peace To Outer Space

Ever since the Space Race began, humanity has ushered in a new era of an unrivalled technological breakthrough. But with it comes the risk that goes with the successes that man experienced. On October 4, 1957, the Sputnik I was launched saying to the world that it needs to have regulations for peace to persist in the long run.

It was successful, and international laws were developed to control the technologies that are orbiting the planet. One can see that space law proves to be a successful implementation of balancing the spread of scientific technology.

Back in 2967, the United Nations recognized “the common interest of all mankind in the progress of the exploration and use of outer space for peaceful purposes”.

It also states that our Moon and other heavenly bodies must solely be used for peaceful purposes. The various laws in armed conflict are the major factor in restraining the military operations here on Earth.

However, the downside is that it does not point out to outer space, making it only confined to the limits of the planet.

As of now, there are a lot of efforts in controlling the weaponization of outer space. But so far, these negotiations and rules are still ineffective. The threat of having a space war is very strong, which is why the public should be made aware of this.

Thankfully, the MILAMOS Project is upon us now, as it aims to secure the peace in outer space by preventing the militarization through the use of the various technologies that leading space faring nations have.
