The PlayStation VR(Virtual Reality) Headset. Here’s what you need to know. The VR is scheduled to come out in October of 2016 and in some stores is available for pre-order.
Most of the stores that have the VR available to pre-order are UK stores. Recently, Amazon had the VR available for pre-order but sold out of them almost instantly. If you’re looking to pre-order the VR Headset, it is suggested by Playstation.com that you follow them on Twitter or Fcebook and get updates as to when they will be accepting pre-orders. Amazon.com is currently out of them, but you can also get on their mailing list and receive an email letting you know when they have more available.
The VR is not a gaming console itself but is rather an extension of the Playstation 4 game console. What do you need to have in order to use the VR? You need to purchase the Playstation 4 console and you also need the PlayStation Camera, if you don’t already have them. You plug your PLaystation VR headset and your PlayStation Camera into the PlayStation 4 and away you go on your Virtual Reality experience. The PlayStation VR Headset is currently priced at $399US. Again, that does not include the console or camera which is priced at $365US for the console and $45US for the camera.
The PlayStation VR Headset will be offering upward to 50 games within the first year of its release. There will be a free download for all those that purchase the VR Headset called The Playroom VR. This will be available for download at the PlayStation Store. Not only will you be seeing virtual reality with the move motion controller and camera tracking your every move, but you’ll also be listening to it. The built-in 3D audio will allow you to pinpoint sounds from any direction. In game, if you hear someone walking toward you from the left or right, you will be able to hear it from that direction and even judge how far away the “person” is. Simply put, it’ll be as if you’re judging distance in reality.
